Stichting Center for Culture and Development - Netherlands (CCD-NL) was founded by Yetty van der Made-Haning. In 2010, she initiated the exploration of Ikat, a traditional Indonesian weaving technique, at Leiden University's International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS). This initiative focused on revitalizing intangible cultural heritage and laid the groundwork for CCD-NL's establishment as a Dutch foundation in 2017.
Building upon these early initiatives, CCD-NL has been dedicated to promoting the vibrant connection between culture and development both within the Netherlands and beyond. In 2020, a decade after her initial exploration, Yetty returned to Indonesia to reconnect with the artisans supported by CCD-NL. This visit underscored her enduring commitment to preserving and promoting traditional crafts, as well as strengthening relationships with international partners.
Over the years, CCD-NL has organized various activities, including lectures and presentations to revive tangible and intangible cultural heritage and foster creativity, innovation, and sustainability in cultural development.
